Name: Arben Seva
Age: 32
Born: Albania
Lived in Scotland since: 2000
Arben Seva came to Scotland from Albania in the year 2000.
Arben says, “I have found the transition to life in Scotland exciting, if a bit cold! I am adjusting to the climate now but feel that more sunshine would rank Edinburgh as the most beautiful city in the world. Living in the capital has enabled me to sample the delights of Scottish heritage and culture on a daily basis.”
Technology
Arben is impressed by the access to technology and high-speed internet access in Scotland, saying it makes his work so much easier and efficient.
He explains, “I can contact so many customers at the touch of a button. This is really important with my business Cosmo Translations which I established in 2005. Business Gateway has been very helpful with providing start up information. We offer translation services to a wide audience and business is improving every day.
“I started as a freelance translator and now we provide quality services to more than 70 clients. We cooperate with more that 100 translators and proofreaders.”
Fresh Talent
“The Scottish Government Fresh Talent Initiative enabled me to fulfil my entrepreneurial dream for which I am forever thankful.” Says Arben.
A qualification in Computer Science from Heriot Watt University was the first stepping-stone in the road to success for Arben. He is now living and working in Scotland under the Fresh Talent scheme until end of October.
The Scots
Arben’s opinion of the Scottish people and culture is a positive one.
He says, “The whole Scottish package of culture, heritage and people has really influenced my decision to live here. There is so much more to Scotland than shortbread and tartan.”
