Under European Community law, you family includes –
If your family members or partner are EEA nationals, they have the right to travel between all member countries. They do not need any formal permission to join you in the UK.
If you are an EEA national but your family members are not, they will need to apply for an EEA Family Permit.
If you and your family are non-EEA nationals they will have to apply for entry clearance as your dependent before coming to the UK. This application should be made at the British Embassy or High Commission in your country before travelling to the UK.

If you and your partner are non-EEA nationals, they may be able to join you in the UK but this depends on the category under which you have been granted leave to enter or remain in the UK.
