To come and study in Scotland you need to satisfy the Immigration Rules which apply to the UK, in general.
From the end of March 2009, NON EEA students will have to be sponsored by a licensed education provider to be eligible to come to the UK to study under the new Tier 4, student tier under the new Points Based System.

A list of the UK education providers already licensed to sponsor migrant students under the new points-based system (register of sponsors- educational provider) can be found on the UK Border Agency's website

Tier 4 applicants will have to show that they score enough points to qualify.

Please note that the Student Visitor visa and the Prospective Student visa will remain the same (outside of the new Points Based System).
