Scotland celebrates 500 years of printing on Friday 4 April.
The first book in Scotland was called 'The Complaint of the Black Knight'. This book was dated 4 April 1508. Andrew Myllar and Walter Chepman opened the first printing press in Edinburgh in 1507. 'The Complaint of the Black Knight' is the oldest known publication from their press.
There are events and activities in Scotland to celebrate the 500th anniversary.
