Prescription Charges
Medicines prescribed by the GP are not free.
If you need regular prescriptions you are advised to buy a pre-payment certificate. This means you only pay once for an unlimited number of prescriptions within a given timeframe.
Some people get free prescriptions:
- Children under 16
- 16-18-year-olds who are in full-time education
- People over 60 with certain conditions and
- Expectant mothers.
