Applications are invited for a further round of projects that will help international students to stay on to live and work in Scotland has been announced today (8 February 2008).
Background
International students are a key target of the Scottish Government's Fresh Talent policy, which aims to attract and retain bright, motivated and hard-working people to live, work and study in Scotland to support economic growth.
From its launch in 2005 the Fresh Talent Supporting International Students Challenge Fund has already provided around £700,000 of funding to support 56 projects.
The Scottish Government is to invest a further £300,000 in projects in years 2008-2009, which prepare international students living in Scotland for the workplace and support migrant workers to integrate into Scottish life.
The International Students Challenge Fund will focus on projects aimed at increasing the employability of international students. The funding is being made available to universities and colleges in Scotland to support projects in the 2008-2009 academic year.
The closing date for applications is 2 May 2008
Successful projects will be announced in July 2008.
