Scotland’s capital has two Scottish Premier League football clubs to support and many excellent leisure facilities for residents and visitors to use.

There are many natural green spaces to enjoy too. Hike up Arthur’s Seat, an extinct volcano in the city centre. Stroll through The Meadows, enjoy a picnic in Princes Street Gardens or explore the world-renowned Royal Botanic Gardens.

Alternatively, head to the edge of town and visit some of the surrounding beaches, parks and hills.

Edinburgh’s architecture is one of the most striking aspects of the city, from medieval ‘closes’ (alleyways) of the city’s Old Town, to the elegant streets of the Georgian New Town. You can also explore modern icons such as the new Scottish Parliament.
